I have a personal life insurance policy (not just through my employer)
My coverage is sufficient to cover my mortgage + 5 years of income
My beneficiary designations are up to date on all policies
My coverage has been reviewed in the last 2 years
I understand any exclusions in my policy

💼 Income Protection (Disability)

I have personal disability insurance (not just employer short-term)
My disability coverage replaces at least 60–70% of my income
I know my waiting (elimination) period before benefits begin
I know whether my policy is "own-occupation" or "any-occupation"
My policy covers mental health conditions

📋 Estate Planning

I have a valid, updated will
I have a power of attorney — both financial and personal care
Beneficiary designations are set on all registered accounts (RRSP, TFSA, pension)
My estate documents have been reviewed in the last 3 years
My will names a guardian for any minor children
